Welcome to Advanced Rheumatology of Houston
Advanced Rheumatology of Houston is dedicated to providing relief for those suffering with rheumatologic conditions. Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, and scleroderma are just a few of the conditions we diagnose and treat. We also diagnose and treat the pain and disability associated with osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia.
We understand that each patient’s needs will be different. Our thorough diagnostic testing allows us to customize a detailed treatment and management plan to help bring you the relief and quality of life that you desire.
Additionally, our clinic has several research studies available for individuals with rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, fibromyalgia, and ankylosing spondylitis.
These studies have no cost to the patient and often include free medication, travel stipends, clinic visits, and labs. Please visit our Research page for more information.

Dr. Tamar F. Brionez
Dr. Brionez’s approach to patient care is holistic, considering not just the disease but the overall health of her patients. She is a respected leader in the management of autoimmune disorders, including Sjogren’s, Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Scleroderma, Osteoporosis, and many others.
She has a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences from Texas A&M University and completed her Doctor of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. Additionally, she completed her Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Colorado- Health Science Center and her Fellowship in Rheumatology at the University of Texas-Health Science Center.
Dr. Brionez’s unwavering dedication to her patients is matched only by her exceptional ability to diagnose complex conditions. She is a leader in the field, upholding the highest standards of medical care and leveraging cutting-edge technology and the latest medical research. Dr. Brionez’s expertise is often sought after, as she frequently educates and lectures her peers on new or evolving medications, participates in advisory boards, and leads community outreach programs, providing research opportunities to those in need.
